Solo Artist – Open (No record deals, must be amateur) (May be accompanied by 1 person).
1. The Battle of the Bands is open to primary school (junior) and open age artists of amateur status with no record deals.
2. Acts must enter online at www.playontheplains.com.au
All entrants must complete the online application on the Play on the Plains website as a condition of entrance into the competition. Partial or incomplete applications will not be accepted.
All completed applications will be considered for a performance spot on the program. Spots are limited.
A video performance of the band or soloist is to be included in the application. This does not need to be of premium quality and may be recorded on a mobile device.
3. It is permitted for performers to be in more than one band
4. Judges will select acts from the videos sent as part of the application to participate.
Judges decisions are final and no correspondence will be entered into
5. Successful applications to perform the following:
Each band to perform 3 songs.
Each soloist to perform 2 songs with one accompanist (no backing track).
6. Covers and original songs are both very welcome
7. Equipment– we will provide PA, mics, guitar/bass/keyboard amps and drum kit. You will need to provide your own pedals and drumsticks
8. Applications must be received no later than 17th February 2024.
9. Each Act will have 10 minutes to perform on stage
10. Swearing will not be tolerated and will be dealt with by muting all sound and the band/solo being disqualified
11. The Judges' decisions are final

13. Participation in this event implies full consent for all photographs, video, sound recordings or visual images to be used by Play On The Plains Festival Ltd. for reporting or promoting the event and future events in any way
14. Bands/soloist and accompanying personnel are expected to conduct themselves in a professional and appropriate manner at all times whilst on the event site. Disorderly conduct by any member will result in the disqualification of the entire Act.
15. Bands/soloist and accompanying personnel are expected to cooperate with the event and venue at all times, any verbal or physical abuse will not be tolerated. Event and venue includes all staff i.e. Play On The Plains Festival Ltd. staff, judges, sound and lighting engineers, stage crew, venue staff and security staff. Offenders will be ejected from the site and any damage incurred or injury inflicted met with maximum penalty or dealt with by the law accordingly
16. The event organisers reserve the right to disqualify any band/soloist that is observed to be behaving in an uncompetitive or inappropriate manner. This also includes online etiquette and internet interaction with both Play On The Plains websites/social media and its patrons and including interaction by association
17. To enter, the act members agree not to encourage or promote any activity which could lead to injuries, damages, or losses. If any member encourages or promotes such activity they must defend, indemnify and hold harmless Deni Play On The Plains Festival Ltd., its officers, trustees, agents, and employees, from and against all claims, lawsuits, proceedings (Administrative or otherwise), losses, penalties, damages, costs, charges and other expenses of every kind, including reasonable attorneys' fees and litigation expenses which may arise by reason of injuries, including death or property damage, incurred before, during, or after the act's performance.
